Colleen Stiles is best known for her detailed pen & ink drawings which depict a conceptual interpretation of reality infused with fantasy. Her work exemplifies an appreciation of nature, animals and worlds where magical creatures, uncharted landscapes and ethereal beings come to life. Other mediums used in her illustrative work include watercolor, acrylic, graphite and colored pencil.
Inspired by the art, Colleen started telling the stories behind the drawings. This is how her first children’s book, Otis the Donkeysus came to life.
Colleen grew up in middle America, and after a few years of travel, settled back in her home town of Tulsa, Oklahoma. With a BFA from Oklahoma State University, Colleen has made a career in graphic design, and has exhibited her 2D and 3D artwork as far as London, England. Married for 20 years, Colleen and her husband have three children.
